Andres Aquino EDUCATION. Andres Aquino received his B.A. summa cum laude and M.A. and was awarded “Scholar of the College” from Boston College. He has years of experience in show production, facility management, talent management, event coordination, publishing, and market research as well as teaching, writing, theater directing and business administration. In addition, he has worked in international business consulting, exporting and importing as well as fashion design and fashion merchandising to the boutique market. PHOTOGRAPHER. As a fashion and fine art photographer Mr. Aquino has covered hundreds of designer runway shows in Europe, South America, Canada, Africa and the USA. His photography work and editorials have appeared in numerous publications around the world. BUSINESSMAN. Andres Aquino is the founder of Fashion Syndicate Press a leading fashion photographic agency since 1997 with press clients worldwide. PUBLISHER. In February 2008 Andres Aquino launched Couture & Luxury, a print and online fashion and lifestyle pictorial. FASHION SHOW PRODUCER. As founder and producer of COUTURE FASHION WEEK, launched in 2003, as well as other fashion show events, Mr. Aquino oversees all production aspects - from sponsors to designers, from venue selection to model casting, from technical staff operations to public relations. FASHION DESIGNER. Inspired by his experience in the fashion field and needing garments to showcase jewelry and accessories by designers participating in the fashion events, Mr. Aquino began to design gowns. The enthusiastic reaction by audiences and press encouraged him to create entire seasonal collections of high fashion evening and cocktail ensembles starting in 2008. Couture Fashion Week New York City with participating designers from Russia, South Africa, Dominican Republic, Brazil, USA, Portugal and Lebanon. Created and presented the first International Fashion Designer of the Year Award to Russian designer Helen Yarmak. Show held at Capitale, NYC. 2004 April 2005. Fashion show for upscale audience at Palm Beach art gallery. May 2005. Hosted press conference in New York City for Chinese government delegation for partnering in the “Chinese Model Olympics”. June 2005. Traveled to Bulgaria to promote fashion shows. Interview on country’s most popular TV program (Slavi’s Show), as well as press conference with all major national print media. Produced three days of fashion shows for top industry trade show Lingerie Americas in New York City, coordinating all aspects of the showing of 180 outfits from NY, Paris and Milan including designers and labels such as La Perla, Oscar de la Renta, Betsey Johnson and many others. February 2007. Couture Fashion Week in New York City presented 14 collections over three days at the world-famous Waldorf-Astoria with designers from Kuwait, South Africa, Croatia, Australia, Swaziland, Bahamas, Moldova, Colombia, Lebanon, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic and USA. With an audience of press, fashion buyers, diplomats, VIPs and upscale consumers. June 2007. In recognition for his contributions to the fashion industry, Andres Aquino was invited to Curacao and presented with the Prestige Award International by the Curacao Beauty Organization. September 2007 December 2007. Produced gala fashion show for the grand opening of the Desmond Tutu Center, hotel and convention facility, in New York City. Invited as special guest designer to close the multi-day República Dominicana Fashion Week, Santo Domingo. September 2009. Couture Fashion Week is again held at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City with participating designers from Dubai, Turkey, Lebanon, Chile, Australia, Egypt, China, Thailand, Romania, The Netherlands, Nigeria, the Dominican Republic and the USA. The event launches the “Couture Fashion Week Ball”. October 2009. Invited as special guest – along with such celebrities and notables as award-winning actress Maria Conchita Alonso and Rashel Pouri, Princess of Iran - to the “Miracle in the Heart of Tamaulipas” star-studded charity gala and benefit for disadvantaged children in Tamaulipas, Mexico. December 2009. Invited as special guest to present latest collection at India International Fashion Week, New Delhi. February 2010. Couture Fashion Week held in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City with participating designers from Lebanon, Dubai, Turkey, Romania, Nigeria, the USA and more.
